Our client is one of the largest independent handling agents that is represented at more than 200 airports worldwide. Our client employs over 600 people, 350 of whom work on the freight product in their modern warehouse. Trucks from all over Europe come to Schiphol. Employees build the freight they deliver on pallets as efficiently as possible. That is a profession in its own, which requires not only muscle strength and spatial insight, but also a good sense of safety. The staff knows: if you do not build up smartly, less cargo will go on the plane. The cargo customers are 30 different airlines, which transport the accumulated cargo by air. Our customer is one of the three largest air freight companies at Schiphol.
For our client at Schiphol we are looking for students / weekend employees who want to work on Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday. The services consist of Day (7:00 AM -3:00 PM), Evening (3:00 PM- 11:00 PM) and Night (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) services.A fixed hourly wage of 10,00 and allowances of 66,66% and 93,33% depending ob your service applies. You must be at least 18 years old and of undisputed behavior because we have to do a background check. New employees receive a training so they can function optimally. The training takes 5 days. This training can also be followed in the evenings. You do not need a forklift certificate. You get this, together with your Dangerous Goods andEmployee Airfreight certificates via the client. In this position you are responsible for the execution of various operational activities in the warehouse with regard to physical cargo handling of exports / imports. You do this in such a way that loading and unloading, storage and
construction of shipments are processed optimally and on time.
In this job you are responsible for the correct execution of the following tasks, among others:
-Pallet construction and pallet demolition, accepting and checking freight for missing goods and / or damage, identifying special freight (dangerous goods, value shipments and pharma);
-Localizing and moving supplied export cargo;
-Locating controlled import cargo, using forklifts;
-Delivering controlled and stored import cargo to freight forwarders.
